to my home page. I have been teaching at Sunset Park Elementary School since 1988. I have been teaching since 1978, taking five years off to be with my two children, a son who is 24 who attends Florida State University as a graduate student, and a daughter who is 20. My husband and I just will celebrate our 26th wedding anniversary in August and my son announced his engagement to his college sweetheart last summer. I have also returned to the classroom. I have almost completed my Masters Degree in Technology Applications in Education. This will be a very busy and productive year for us all.

I was proud to represent Sunset Park Elementary School as its Teacher of the Year for the 1998-99 school year.

I take pride in my computer literacy and always strive to learn more. Some of my accomplishments are the creation and publication of the school's newsletter "The Panther Pause," and the monthly calendar that used to be sent home. The most notable of my accomplishments has been the design of two websites; one for the school and one for my class. I am always looking for new information and try to keep both sites updated. I also post my weekly homework assignments on a site called . I try to keep the parents of my students informed about their child's progress and what is going on in our classroom. Schoolnotes affords me the opportunity to do this in a quick and easy way. I am also able to add links to other web sites that coincide with what we are studying in the classroom. I keep in touch with parents in many ways, including e-mail and instant messaging. This works well with everyone's busy schedule.
