 The purpose of this page will be to share with others news about all of the exciting things going on in our classroom and at our school, Sunset Park Elementary School. Don't forget to check out the Home Connection and Show & Tell page.

Come check out our 15 new Dell computers complete with new headphones! There are exciting times ahead!

ESOL Students will be reading Accelerated Reader books and earning points! There will be a race going on to improve our reading skills while racking up those AR points!

ESOL Students will be reading Book Adventure books and taking tests online at www.bookadventure.com! There is so much talent and a great desire to read in Mrs. Mayers' ESOL classes. Mrs. Mayers will sign each of her students up for their own Book Adventure account so that they can read books registered with Book Adventure. Many books are registered with both Book Adventure and Accelerated Reader so students can earn points in both places!

 ESOL Students and those learning to read should visit Starfall!
Visit Starfall.com to work on your beginning reading skills at home. This great website will even read to you so that you can hear the sounds of the letters and words as each word is sounded out. Mrs. Mayers students will be receiving a workbook that goes along with the Starfall website to help reinforce the skills being learned. Bookmark this site on your computer and visit it often!

I will post the assignment for the coming week over the weekend. Those changes are easy because once I type them they are immediately available to you on the web. It is a wonderful tool to help you assist your child and know what is going on in the classroom. All you need to know is our school's zip code which is 33173.
